The CenterPoint Energy Low Income Rental Efficiency Program is designed to target higher usage 1-4 unit rental properties in CenterPoint Energy’s gas territory. We work with landlords to help improve their properties and lower tenants gas bills. Landlords are required to pay 50% of the cost of all improvements and CenterPoint Energy covers the other half.
The service area includes all of CenterPoint Energy gas territory in Minnesota. If you are a renter who has received Energy Assistance or are a Section 8 participant, you may qualify for our program. Please contact your landlord about participating. If you are a landlord and at least ½ of the tenants in your building are considered low income, please call our office or see our application (below) to learn more.
Depending on each property’s needs, we may:
Free software for managing property. Allows landlords to be able to take maintenance requests and payments online. Transaction fees apply for payments and screening reports, but there are no monthly minimums or additional fees involved.
Rentler’s online rent payment service allows landlords to collect rent online for free and also allows tenants to build credit for free with each on-time rent payment; which can be a bonus marketing angle for you when you’re trying to fill vacancies.
Free rental management software that also includes student rental housing. Has the ability to customize the lease and rental application.
